founded early in the 1800's by one of cognac's most prominent businessmen. the planat family were famously involved in many of the grand projects for the development of the city of cognac and its surrounding area and the son of the founder, oscar planat, was not only elected mayor but had one of the main boulevards of the town named after him. the planat company is still family owned and produces excellent all-round cognacs. the house style shows a distinctive floral spicy aroma and rich warm smooth flavour with a touch of that typical cognacaise fire.
