The information we collect and how we use it

When you buy from our site we need to know your name and email address. We also need to know your street address, telephone number and your credit/debit card details.

We gather this information to allow us to process your registration, open an account for you and facilitate the purchase procedure. The relevant information is then used to maximise the effectiveness of our services, and to increase the speed with which transactions are conducted.

Your personal data will be used to provide the information, goods and services offered through our website to you, for billing and order fulfilment.

We will never collect sensitive information about you without your explicit consent.

Credit card details are not stored by us, but sent to a remote secure server for processing by Sagepay (the UK’s largest independent Payment Service Provider); payment is then made by HSBC merchant services.

We will not provide any information about you to third parties.

From time to time we send email newsletters and promotions to our email list. These emails always contain details of how to unsubscribe should you prefer not to hear from us.

From time to time we will employ the services of a third party marketing agency to contact you through legitimate interest. Their privacy policy can be found at https://www.marketmakers.co.uk/privacy-policy/

How we protect your information

We have put in place various security procedures to safeguard your personal information, including secure server software (SSL) for encryption of your credit card information, and digital server identity technology to ensure that your connection to whiskhampers.co.uk is secure.  Firewalls are used to block unauthorised traffic to our servers.  The actual servers are securely located and accessible only by authorised personnel.

You can tell a page is secure when “https” replaces “http” in your address bar.  A small padlock will also appear at the bottom of your browser window. Double clicking on the padlock will verify the validity of our security licence.  In some browsers, the address bar will turn yellow.

We will take all reasonable measures as required under the UK Data Protection Act 1998 to ensure that personal information you submit to us is kept secure and protected from unauthorised use or disclosure.

Cookies are used for web analysis purposes and are able to be used to generate pseudonyms for user profiles.

Information that is collected via cookies is used in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Your consent

By submitting your information you consent to the use of the information as set out in this policy.  If we change our privacy policy we will post the changes on this page, and may also place notice on other pages of the site, to keep you constantly informed about the information we collect and how we use it. We may also email you so that you may consent to our use of your information in that way.  Continued use of the service will signify that you agree to any such changes.

You have a right to information about your stored personal data and the right to correction, blocking and deletion of the data.
